At Georgia Rehabilitation Specialists, LLC we treat a variety of conditions. Our physical therapy staff has rich experience in a spectrum of rehabilitation specialty areas. These areas include, but are not limited to:

  • Post-operative and total joint replacement
  • Fractures
  • Sports injuries
  • Motor vehicle injuries
  • Multiple trauma

Your care begins with an in-depth initial evaluation assessment of your condition. Your licensed physical therapist then develops a customized treatment program that is directed toward making meaningful, practical and sustained changes in your ability to function. Goals for therapy are developed with you and are focused toward maximizing functional independence, preventing further movement/function problems and maintaining health.

Our treatment options include:
  • Therapeutic Exercise: To maintain or increase flexibility and the strength of your body.
  • Neuromuscular reeducation: To improve balance, gait, coordination, and posture.
  • Electrical Stimulation: To decrease pain and swelling and facilitate faster healing.
  • Ultrasound: To create a deep heating effect that can reduce pain, spasm and joint stiffness in addition to increasing flexibility of muscles, tendons, and ligaments.
  • Iontophoresis: This treatment utilizes topical medication to help reduce the symptoms of tendonitis and bursitis. We also offer a medicated patch that patients can wear for effective relief.
  • Home Exercise Program: We will create a customized program to help you recover from injury, improve strength, balance, and coordination and enhance your ability to perform.
We also offer special programs such as back school education and joint protection education.

What to expect during your first visit:
During your first visit, we select the treatment options to fit your particular condition and needs. When you come in for your initial visit, you will complete a health history (if not completed prior to your visit). Your therapist will then evaluate your condition in a private room to determine the cause of your pain and establish the best treatment methods and exercises to most effectively remedy your problem. If possible please wear tennis shoes and clothes that are loose and comfortable.
